Our
Story
Emperor Nurseries was launched in January 2023 with a clear mission: to work in partnership with wonderful existing nursery settings looking for fresh energy, continuity, and caring hands to look after their children, teams, and families.
Founded by two dads of their own respective toddlers, Emperor Nurseries grew from a simple belief: that every nursery should be a place we would proudly send our own daughters to. That ethos guides every decision we make.
Our vision is to nurture, and further develop high-quality early years settings – always preserving their character while strengthening what already makes them special. We focus on creating warm, home-from-home environments that feel personal and independent, not corporate or clinical.
Since launch, we have worked closely with our teams to bring positive change across our settings, with the utmost focus on child-centered care. With our combined educational & care experience and hands-on approach, we have also delivered thoughtful refurbishments, stronger marketing, modern technology, and collaborative team support.

The Tiny Toes Nursery Club
Hertford, Hertfordshire

Created by a working mum in 2018, to find childcare for her own children, Dragonflies Day Nursery & Out of School Club has now been delivering exceptional childcare across Chandler’s Ford for many years.
Set within the grounds of Knightwood Leisure Park and surrounded by beautiful woodland, Dragonflies is a nursery truly built for outdoor learning and adventure.
Alongside our day nursery, we offer a highly imaginative out of school and holiday club, caring for children aged 5–11 with engaging, memorable activities every day.
Yellow Star Day Nursery

Founded in 2012, Yellow Star Nursery in Wheathampstead is a well-loved, family-focused nursery. With a highly experienced and nurturing team, strong relationships are built with children and parents. We also have well established partnerships with our local schools, supporting smooth transitions into education.
Designed to feel like a true home away from home, the nursery offers a calm environment where each child is recognised as an individual, with learning experiences tailored to support development.
With a large, secure garden playground and a purpose-built outdoor canopy, children enjoy a balanced mix of indoor and outdoor learning throughout the year, encouraging exploration and physical development.
Our guiding principles

We intentionally limit the number of children in our settings to keep them a true 'home from home', so you and your child will know all our practitioners, and all our practitioners will know you and your child. This is a special and close-knit family, not a huge and often intimidating corporate chain nursery.

Inspired by the Curiosity Approach - we leverage the latest best-in-class teaching methods to allow your child to become the best version of themselves. As a result, we typically see children who graduate from our nurseries go on to be ahead of their peers with their problem-solving & communication skills when they start school.
